Q: How often should I clean my computer?

A: The answer to this depends a lot on the environment the computer is in. Generally, though, you should clean the inside of your home computer about 4 times per year. External cleaning should be done as needed.

Q: Do you offer any software classes or training services?

A: Yes. The Technology Works does offer some basic computing classes and training, often in your own home at affordable prices.

Q: When you say "high-end" gaming computer what does that actually mean?

A: When we refer to our custom gaming systems or workstations as being "high-end" we mean that we are using the newest, most stable technologies available. All of our gaming systems include at least a basic level of "eye-candy". Custom gaming rigs usually cost between $3,000 and $10,000, including a monitor. Airbrushing, decals and color matching components can cost extra.

Q: Do you ever come to the clients work site or make housecalls?

A: Yes. In most cases this is the prefered method of interaction.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: Currently we accept cash, personal checks or money orders. We will be accepting some major credit cards very soon.

Q: Do you work on other electronics besides computers?

A: Yes. We also provide consultation, installation and placement of home stereos and home theater systems.

Q: Where are you located?

A: Currently we are running a home-based office in Portage. Adequate parking space is provided on the North facing side of the home.

Q: What are your hours?

A: Someone is usually available to answer your call and schedule an appointment between 11am and 4pm. You can leave us a message anytime and we will return your call to set up an appointment. Please call to make sure someone is going to be in the office before you travel to our location as we may be at a customers home or office. We are closed on Sundays unless special arrangements have been made.

Q: Do you charge for a consultation?

A: The initial consultation is always free after which subsequent consultations may or may not be billed. Rates for advanced consultations vary based on the level of service provided.
